QUESTION AND ANSWER

Q: I can't stop the autoswitch from switching between the 2 PCs when I'm working on one PC, how do I configure this?
A: Press CTRL, ALT, ALT, SHIFT, L in 5 seconds to disable the other user, or just set it to a longer pause time. As long as you press the keyboard or mouse before the pause time out, you will be able to maintain control over the PC.

Q: The second user on the autoswitch doesn't seem to work.
A: Press the hot keys on user 1 to give up the access and then press user 2's keyboard to gain the access. If the timeout settings are not working properly, we suggest you replace it with another unit.

Q: Does the autoswitch have a PS/2 for mouse and keyboard connectors?
A: Yes, it has both PS/2 and DB9/DIN5M connectors and includes 1 Din5 and 1 DB9 cables for the PC to switch connection.

Q: I have one monitor that keeps rolling the images.
A: Try a shorter triple shielded cable to connect the monitor.

Q: The unit does not work with my PS/2 and 1 PC to 1 console set up.
A: You may need to try another PS/2 mouse, or switch to CS142, which has the least compatibility problem with a PS/2 mouse.

Q: Can I use the MKR201AUM with a MAC computer and a PC keyboard?
A: This unit does not support keyboard mapping, but we have some products that can be used for this application: CV160 (Mac to PC signal converter) and the CS142 ServerMaster might work for you.

Q: I have two PCs hooked up to the servermaster, but the second PC's mouse does not track properly - the vertical is fine but the horizontal does not track.--
A:
Try switching the PCs, this way you can evaluate whether it is the box or the cable. If the second PC is still having problems, then it's the box. But if the problem transfers to the first PC, it's most likely the cable.

Q: On the second PC that's hooked up, the mouse 's horizontal tracking does not work properly.
A: Try to switch PC #1 with #2 to check whether it is the box or the cable. If PC #2 is still has a problem, then it's the box. If it switches to PC #1, then it's the cable. You'll have to replace them.

Q: We are going to integrate the controller into an industrial computer system, what is the command key for the controller to swap the PCs?
A: The hot keys are Ctrl, Alt, Alt, Shift and PC number (in 2 digits).

Q: Whenever I press the "Caps Lock" key, the keyboard no longer functions on any of the 4 computers.
A: We ran tests and tried both PS/2 and Din5 keyboards, but we did not have the described problem. We suggest you try the CS104P or the CS114.

Q: What resolution does the MKR401AU support and does it support S/2 and serial simultaneously?
A: This part has been discontinued and we suggest the CS114 which supports the PS/2 and serial simultaneously. It supports resolutions up to 1600X1200.

Q: I seem to loose control of either the mouse or keyboard when I switch from computer to computer.
A: Try booting up each computer separately with the switch locked on to the port you are currently in. Then do that for the next computer.

Q: I'm having problems with my mouse, its using both PS/2 and an AT mouse.
A: The DD and DR version have better support for PS/2 to AT converting, check which version you have. If you have a PS/2 and AT mix, get the CS114 instead.

Q: I've had the MKR401D for about a year now. The mouse never worked and I could handle 2 separate mice, but because I added 2 more computers, 4 mice would be too many. The video display is also a little dull. Why doesn't it convert the signal well?
A: We have dropped this item from the list so try the CS114 instead.

Q: Does the MKR401 support cordless mice/keyboards and multimedia?
A: The MKR401 DD and DR have been tested to run with some brands of wireless mice and keyboards.

MKR801DD/DR

A: You cannot connect the MKR801D into the MKR801DR. You need to swap them first, then daisy chain them.

Q: Why won't my keyboard work on both of my PCs?
A: We recommend that you boot up each computer separately. Do not turn them on at the same time.

Q: Could I use both PS/2 and AT computers on the same servermaster?
